Doin' Great in '08

So not to out due our previous posts about Grad school and our 1st anniversary, we would like to announce the soon-to-be newest member of our little family, and no it's not a puppy. That's right folks, we are going to be parents and couldn't be more excited. I'm due October 5 which means we'll already be in South Carolina living it up in the dirty south. We are already planning on having a lot of visitors so if you aren't on the list yet you better sign up quick!!

Oh and side note: I was at Wal-Mart just this afternoon and I was doing the self checkout and totally forgot my pin number. I tried like 4 times with a variation of the numbers that I know are in it but I could not get it right. And it didn't help any that the machine get proclaiming that my card was invalid. So I had to apologize to the guy behind me and run to ask the worker for help. He came over and I was able to run it as a credit, but it was still pretty embarrassing. I'm pretty sure I broke a little sweat.

One Year Gone Already!

It is hard to believe that we've already been married a year! At the risk of sounding sappy, I'm going to talk about my Allice. Check that, I don't care if I sound sappy...In fact, I'm going to sap it up! I just wanted to let all of you know that I consider myself the luckiest guy on earth. I am so grateful that after years of searching and wondering if I'd ever meet the future Mrs. Stockhoff (which trust me I can understand how a last name like Stockhoff would scare a girl) I found my Allice. Marrying my best friend was most certainly worth the wait. As cliche as it sounds, she has made me a better man than I would have ever become on my own.

Here is a list of just a few things that I think make my Allice so wonderful:

1. She patiently watches as my pile of work clothes grows on my side of the bed even when it has grown to the point that we're forced to step over it.

2. She lovingly gives in to my request to "stay up just a little bit longer" to watch sportscenter even though she knows it will guarantee that she will sleep uncomfortably on the couch for two more hours.

3. She listens attentively to me talking about my work which is so boring I even put myself to sleep.

4. She is not embarrassed when I join in and cry during television shows like the biggest loser and extreme makeover home edition.

5. She encourages me to pursue my goals and is the single biggest reason why I even applied to grad school.

6. She loves me and trusts me enough to follow me 2,000 miles across the country to attend grad school. Even if it means moving away from her family, friends, and everything she knows.

7. Perhaps the greatest thing she has done is she has shown me how to truly love everything around you. Your family, your friends, yourself, your job, your surroundings, everything right on down to perfect strangers. She sees the good in everything! I have never met a person who finds more joy in the world around them than my Allice.

So thanks again for saying YES. I love you.

Gone to Carolina in my mind....

This post is a total shout out to my amazing husband Gregory Allen Stockhoff. After months of planning, preparation and waiting in anticipation he has been accepted to the MRED (Masters of Real Estate and Development) program at Clemson University in South Carolina for next fall. Yup, it's moving time. His school starts sometime in mid-August which means we'll pack up, say our goodbyes and move our little selves on out there. I am so proud of Greg and so excited for this upcoming adventure. I have never been to the south let alone ever lived there. I'm sure we are in for some big surprises like heavy accents, being in a place where everyone isn't LDS and the humidity....just to name a few. Anyway, just wanted to share this great news with the world!!
And small confession: we found out a few weeks ago but I haven't wanted to post because I have been waiting for the right time to tell some of my students at Provo High. I broke the news to them last Thursday so bring on the blogging!

Tag I'm it and....hey, why not.

Thank you Meliss for the tag and for providing me with something to keep me from doing my laundry for 10 more minutes!!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names.

10 Years Ago: Was 1998 and I was living at home with my parents in Centerville attending Viewmont High School and mentally preparing myself to audition for Vykelles (the drill/dance team in high school).

5 Things on my To-Do List today:

1- Clean the laundry off my floor
2- Shower and get ready for the day
3- Do the dishes
4- Choreograph a dance on exercise balls
5- Cook dinner

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Oh man, this is kind of a tough one. I would pay off our debt, put some in the savings account, finish my parents basement and backyard, go on a million trips to everywhere possible and shopping of course.

3 of my bad habits:

1- Procrastinating
2- Unpacking, I have successfully filled the extra room in our house with "stuff" that I have accumulated over that last couple years. I am positive it's all important and I can't live without it, but I couldn't even begin to tell you what is in there.
3- Buying clothes just because they are way on sale and super cheap...and then never wearing them.

5 places I have lived:

1- Centerville, UT
2- Rexburg, ID
3- Provo, UT
4- Orem, UT
5- The south side of Provo, UT, it really is like living in another state.

5 jobs I have had:

1- Car washer at East Bay Car wash in Bountiful
2- Mail room worker at Consulmed
3- 5 days at Lagoon as a food worker
4- Well one summer I helped Kimi Moriyama Bradley package dried fruit, trail mix and nuts. I think we only did it for a couple weeks. We were pretty desperate.
5- Provo High Dance Teacher. Love it!!

5 things people don't know about me:

1- I never wear fingernail polish on my fingernails. It drives me in sane!
2- I love listening to rap music (the edited kind). It has a great beat, what can I say??
3- I love texting!! So if you're ever bored give me a shout out!
4- I once fainted in a dentist office, and it wasn't even my appointment.
5- I spend way to much time and thought on surveys like these.

I tag anyone who needs something to blog about....and Dru.
