The haps

I know it has been forever since our last post but we have just had such a fun summer that it was hard to find the time! Since Greg is out watching the Little League World Series game and Gus is playing here on the floor with markers and other random things it seems like the perfect time to update all our friends on what we have been up to. Here goes nothing!
First off, we are back home in South Carolina. We have been back for two whole weeks. We love our new apt and especially love our across the hall neighbors (our great friends the Trythalls). Greg has started school and is liking his classes and Gus and I are enjoying all the time we get to spend together during the day. It's a bit different for him going from living with my family over the summer where there was always someone for Gus to play with to just me. But I'm pretty fun right?
We were able to spend the entire summer in Utah while Greg had an internship in Salt Lake. We lived with my parents and it was so so so fun. Well, we didn't love living out of a suitcase but we managed. We were able to see old friends and just enjoy those great Utah summers and everything that go with them. Oh, and Greg was able to golf a ton. He was part of the fearsome foursome, as I called them, and they would go almost weekly. He was in heaven. We were also able to make a super fun trip up to Portland to visit the Stockhoff clan. We had so much fun going to the coast, shopping downtown, hitting up the local fair under the bridge and enjoying a tasty Voodoo Donut (if you haven't been there you should, and order the maple bar topped with bacon. So. Good.)
Gus also hit many milestones this past summer. He started crawling back in May or so and was able to perfect it. He is such a good little crawler and loves moving from one place to the next. He also grew three teeth, two on the bottom and one snaggle on the top. They are cute but he can be deadly with them. He'll lean in for what you think is a kiss and then just as he is smooshing his face into your cheek you feel those chompers clamp down. That's right, he bites. So if you put your finger in his mouth beware! He also sampled a wide variety of food and loved almost everything he can get his hands on such as: graham crackers, stage 3 baby food, corn on the cob, any kind of bread, popsicles, dry cereal, chips..the list could go on. The only food that I've found that he won't eat are fresh bananas. I put a bit in and he spits it right back out. I'm not giving up though. One day he will love them. He pulls himself up on almost anything he can find and also loves to climb on, over, around and under things.
He is growing so fast and changing almost every day...he turns 1 in three weeks!
We love his so much and are just enjoying him all we can.

Enjoy the pics!

We're glad to have you back neighbors!! It has been a long summer without you guys around. We'll just have to make up for it and do all we can while we live across the hall. Plays at least once a week, but hopefully more!!
